Tocatì and School

That subtile magic, that learning by playing, that transmission of knowledge made of little things, of that kind of mute gestures that only elder sisters and brothers are able to mysteriously transfer to their littlest ones, goes on.
During the fifth edition of the Festival, also the building of the ideal bridge between the primary school and secondary school’s students goes on.
The elder students of Liceo Montanari, Istituto Alberghiero A. Berti and Art Institute Nani, will lead in a urban route between history and games students the of primary school’s  second year.

The project “Childrens’ square” coordinated by the Phisical Education Office and by a team of teachers of the Verona Provincial Scholastic Office, grows with new contents in 2007, reproposing spaces and games just where Time had forgotten them.

In the Verona’s Roman Theatre, that simple games that ancient romans, adult and children, loved to play while waiting the beginning of the show or between the main scenes,  will be recreated.
So that children will learn by playing and will play by learning History, just in its same places.

Games like “Coppelle”, “Aliossi” and “Filetti” won’t be unkown names anymore. In all Mediterranean areas are there an endless range of these kind of games’ graffiti carved on public buildings’ stairs’ steps, Temples, Circus, Stadiums, Churches, Theatres and all the places where people were forced to wait: these waitings seem to had given life to the games (pastimes).

The walk through History by observing, playing and learning other games existing since the Pharaons’ times yet, will end in beauty with visiting S.Giorgio in Braida, S.Anastasia and Lombroso Gardens.

Federazione Provinciale Coldiretti of Verona’s “Campagna Amica” will provide to compensate the energies spreaded by offering yoghurt, bread and jam. And finally everybody goes home, to tell the adventure of playing in storical squares and places, to live again a memory and to wait of being a little bigger and tell the story to the little ones.
