Welcome to Tocatì!
7th edition
25th, 26th, 27th September 2008
Verone, City centre.
Tocatì is an unique event in Italy and Europe. The festival is the result of the commitment that Associazione Giochi Antichi (AGA) has shown in safeguarding and promoting the traditional game since 2002.
Verona has been hosting this event at the end of September for six year now, and this year the Festival takes place on the 25th, 26th, 27th of September. The festival can benefit of an area of 200.000 square meters in the historical setting of the Scaligero centre, thus allowing its streets and squares to revert to their original function of social gathering.
During three days, both the Italian and the hosted traditional game communities will propose over 50 games. This year guest Country is Greece.
With the purpose of drawing attention upon the cultural value of the game and to help the town areas to regain their central social role, the Festival promotes expositions, urban and artistic installations, meetings and conferences, traditional music concerts and tasting of typical products.
The event is sponsored by the European Parliament, the Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali, and Regione Veneto.
Guest Country 2009: GREECE
